1. Who is responsible
Jamie Blaylock trading as JB Motion, operating remotely from Narborough, Leicester, Leicestershire, Midlands, is responsible for the personal information it uses to handle enquiries and provide photography, videography and drone services. For privacy questions or requests, email jamie@jbmotion.uk.
2. Information we handle
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments. You may also send a telephone number, business details, a project location or information about the people involved in a shoot. Please send only what is relevant to your enquiry.
For agreed work, records may include the brief, correspondence, permissions, delivery details, invoices and photographs or footage. Images can contain personal information where people, vehicles or locations are identifiable.
Website hosting and access services may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details and the time and page requested, to deliver and protect the website.
3. Why we use it
We use enquiry and project information to discuss your requirements, prepare quotations, arrange and deliver agreed work, and respond to questions. Where you ask us to take steps towards a booking, or we have a contract with you, that is our lawful basis for the necessary processing.
For other correspondence, business administration and security, we rely on legitimate interests in running a responsive, secure business, balanced against your rights. Where record keeping is required by law, we rely on that legal obligation. If we ask for consent for a particular use, you may withdraw it by contacting us; this does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to a marketing mailing list. We do not use the website to make automated decisions about you.
4. Photography, footage and privacy
The intended use of commissioned photography and footage is agreed in the project brief. We consider portfolio use separately and obtain any permissions needed for identifiable people or private and domestic commissions. Delivery of your files does not by itself give us permission to publish them.
If you have a privacy concern about an image on this website, email us with the page link and a description of the image. We will review the concern and take appropriate action. You do not need to send sensitive identification documents with your first message.
6. How long information is kept
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Raw footage: up to 90 days after final delivery. Client access to raw footage is offered only for agreed industrial roof inspection imagery; keeping a working file does not make it a deliverable for other projects.
- Finished photographs and films: up to 12 months after final delivery, unless a different archive period is agreed in writing.
- Dropbox download links: available for 30 days from delivery, unless we agree another period. Closing a delivery link is separate from deleting our retained project copy.
- Invoices and essential booking records: retained for the applicable tax record-keeping period and for as long as necessary to resolve an outstanding claim or dispute. For self-employed tax records, this is normally at least five years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year.
- Owner dashboard access: the connected owner identifier is kept while needed to control access. It is removed or replaced when that access ends or changes.
At the end of the relevant period we review and delete information that is no longer needed. Where a legal requirement or unresolved dispute requires longer retention, we keep only the relevant information until that reason ends. Provider backups and recovery systems may take additional time to remove deleted copies under their own retention arrangements.
Copies selected for the public portfolio are reviewed separately for continuing relevance and the permissions that apply. Contact us if you have a privacy concern or want us to review a published image. Clients should retain their own copies; we do not offer an indefinite project archive.
8. Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request its deletion or restricted use, object to processing, or request a portable copy. Some rights depend on the purpose and lawful basis, and legal obligations may prevent immediate deletion of certain records.
Send requests or complaints to jamie@jbmotion.uk. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Changes to this notice
This notice will be reviewed when the website, providers or services change. Its date will be updated when the wording is revised.
